Learning outcomes
Somatopedics as a field of special education - definition, subject, development in the 20th and 21st centuries. Categories of mobility limitations - physical disability, illness and health impairment, the concept of functional ability and the WHO classification from the field of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation of persons with reduced mobility - rehabilitation in the healthcare sector, social and occupational rehabilitation. Related medical fields - occupational therapy, physiotherapy, rehabilitation and physical medicine, prosthetics, clinical psychology and others. Examples of physical disabilities and diseases in early and preschool age, e.g. (infantile) cerebral palsy, congenital developmental defects, epilepsy, diabetes, allergies and others. Special educational intervention for persons with limited mobility - forms, methods, means / aids and content of the intervention, assessment / evaluation with a focus on special educational needs. Examples of institutions for children with limited mobility in the health, school and social sectors and the characteristics of the work of a special pedagogue in individual institutions.
