Learning outcomes
The course focuses on practical skills training, which teachers can use to improve the education of pupils with physical disability and illness. The aim of the subject is to understand the physical, psychological, social and special educational needs of this group of pupils, allowing students to perceive the need for application of special methods and individual approach to pupils. A deeper understanding of physical disability and illness also affects their attitudes towards this group of pupils and allows them to review some stereotypical expectations in their perceptions. From the practical point of view, the course will include rehabilitation methods such as handling and positioning, spastic limbs training before movement and graphomotor activities, methods of metacognitive intervention (Feuerstein's mediated learning experience and the introduction to Feuerstein's instrumental enrichment) and procedures from the field of arts-centred education that use artistic experience to facilitate adaptation problems, acquiring knowledge, training psychomotor skills, promoting social interaction, and other areas.
