The aim of the course is to provide an overview of the system of institutional care for people with visual impairment in the Czech Republic, including the legislative frameworks, in all related sectors and non-profit organizations. An emphasis is placed on the specifics in the approach to individuals with visual impairment based on their age and the type and extent of visual impairment. The course also provides characteristics of differences in the education process for groups of people with visual impairment with an emphasis on the present concept of lifelong education. Syllabus: " Systemic institutional support provided to people with visual impairment in the Czech Republic. " Legislative framework and scope of operations of the basic institutions and facilities designed to aid people with visual impairment. " Diagnostics in typhlopedy. " Characteristics of the individual categories of people with visual impairment, and the specifics of their socialization. " Specifics of Education for people with visual impairment in view of the extent of impairment and the client's age. " Lifelong education - options, conditions and specifics of participation for people with visual impairment. " Employability of people with visual impairment according to their age in relation to the time of the emergence of the visual impairment, its type, extent and duration.
