The course aims to provide a basic overview of social pathology, its definition and specification, introduction to the social aspects of the emergence of deviant behaviour and its consequences for the individual in his/her social context. The course will also focus on social aspects of selected negative phenomena within society. Syllabus: " Basic paradigms in social pathology in history and at present. " Definition of basic concepts - social pathology, social deviation, social norm. " Kinds and classifications of social pathology. " Dissocial, asocial, and anti-social behaviour. " Social values, social norms, social institutions and social relationships. " Subject and object of deviant behaviour and actions. " Content, objectives and consequences of deviant behaviour and actions. " Social aspects of negative phenomena within society. " Mechanisms of social control, problems in socialization processes. " Addictions, addictive behaviour in the social context. " Racism, xenophobia, the issue of minorities in the social context. " Social aspects of prostitution and homelessness.
