The course builds on the course Introduction to Special Needs Education 1. It develops and expands students' knowledge of present-day special needs education. This course, similarly to the previous one, aims at introducing students to findings, building their awareness of the related fields in special needs education. The structure of the course follows the individual developmental stages of people with a disability or disadvantage and the related special needs education care, and simultaneously introduces the individual fields of special needs education. Syllabus: " Introduction to the system of care provided by the main sectors in the Czech Republic (healthcare, education, social affairs). " Introduction to special needs education diagnostics. " Introduction to special needs education counselling. " The family of a child with special needs, people caring for a person with a disability or disadvantage. " Early and pre-school age of a child with special needs, early care. " School age of pupils and students with special education needs. " Adulthood and senior age of people with a disability or disadvantage. " Introduction to social services. " Special needs education for people with a mental disability. " Special needs education for people with hearing impairment. " Special needs education for people with visual impairment. " Special needs education for people with limited mobility. " Special needs education for people with psychosocial risk and disorders. " Special needs education for people with communication ability impairment. " Special needs education for people with specific learning disorders, behavioural disorders and attention deficit disorder. " Special needs education for people with multiple disabilities. " Special needs education for exceptionally gifted people.
