The course is intended as the theoretical background for the field of somatopedia and interdisciplinary links in the area of reference fields and the comprehensive conception of rehabilitation. The course is also designed to expand students' knowledge in the area of propedeutic fields: in this case, focus is drawn to the issue of limited mobility. Students will become acquainted with the psychological, medical and social aspects of work with people with limited mobility and the options for their application in special needs education (somatopedia). The course will combine theoretical lecturing, training and practical demonstrations, discussion and individual work by students. Syllabus: " Introduction to the field of Special Needs Education for people with physical disabilities in the context of the present concept of special needs education in the Czech Republic and abroad. " Definition of basic categories and concepts: limited mobility, physical and combined disability, illness, the concept of individual's functional capacity. " Historiography of care for individuals with limited mobility in the Czech Republic and abroad. " Rehabilitation of people with limited mobility (terminology, legislation, concepts), rehabilitation in the therapeutic, social and work area. The work of a special education teacher in the context of the comprehensive concept of rehabilitation. " The importance of interdisciplinarity and the concept of interdisciplinary collaboration in facilities in the sectors of healthcare, education and social care (legislation in the individual sectors, the system of facilities and their basic characteristics, models and particular examples of options for interdisciplinary collaboration). " Psychosocial issues for people with limited mobility (physical, psychical and social needs of children with limited mobility, models of the process of acceptance of a physical disability or a serious illness, the issue of terminal illness, family issues with children with limited mobility, the influence of the visibility of the disability on its bearer). " Medical and nursing aspects of physical disability and illness (characterization of cerebral palsy, innate developmental defects, epilepsy, diabetes mellitus and other common disabilities and illnesses from the field of somatopedia). " Physiotherapy and occupational therapy and other fields from the medical area (classification in the system of medical fields of study, methods for diagnostics and interventions, compensatory aids, the area of prosthetics).
