Course content
Content of the subject is the improvement of student´s knowledge of cariology and endodontics. Student will acquire information about esthetic reconstructions in conservatory dentistry, resin composite filling in distal region, minimal invasive approach in adhesive dentistry, teeth discoloration, different possibilities of bleaching, specifics in dentistry of, elderly people, economical and ethical point of view on treatment. Student will be familiar with development defects of teeth in adult patient, dentin hypersensitivity, pulperiodontal defects. In practical lessons students improves their skills in examination and treatment of patient from endodontic and conservatory point of view. Students will assist treatment of patient with the help of operating microscope.

Learning outcomes
The content of the subject is deepening of the knowledge of cariology and endodontic diseases. The students will receive the knowledge about aesthetic reconstructions and treatment using veneers. During the trainings tooth bleaching as well as miniinvasive treatment of tooth decay have been discussed. The patients treatment using surgical microscope will be demonstrated. The student is acquainted with the specifics of operative dentistry in seniors and patients with health risks. Furthermore the issue of endodontic periodontal lesions as well as cooperation with other dental disciplines will be discussed. During the practical trainings the students practise their skills in examination and treatment of dental caries and their consequences, establish a treatment plan and adjust the oral hygiene. Modern technologies such as the use of intraoral scanners and photos, used for communication with the laboratory in the making of small indirect reconstructions, are also used during the trainings. The concept of teaching is divided to the effect, that it allows to gradually treat complicated cases using magnifying technique. The training will also include the practice of diagnostic treatment procedures of acute conditions realized at the Dental Emergency at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. This part of the practical trainings will be supervised by doctors of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Students will improve their knowledge in the field of cariology and endodontics. They apply their theoretical knowledge in clinical practice and improve manual dexterity with treating the patients. Students will examine and treat caries, make diagnosis and proceed treatment of noncaries defects, determine treatment plan, preparate and fill root canals. In practical lessons students will get familiar with the usage of operative microscope in endodontics and conservatory dentistry.
