Course content
|
Periodontitis and periodontium atrophy - diagnostics and clinical treatment. Making of treatment plan and conservative phase of therapy. Practical training in patients´ examination, diagnostics of periodontopathy, instruments, professional oral hygiene.

Learning outcomes
|
Periodontitis and periodontium atrophy - diagnostics and clinical treatment. Making of treatment plan and conservative phase of therapy. Practical training in patients´ examination, diagnostics of periodontopathy, instruments, professional oral hygiene. Part of the course will be the practice of diagnostic procedures and treatment of acute conditions to medical first-aid service in the premises of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Classes will be held under the supervision of Institute of Dentistry and Oral Sciences and Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery lecturers.
Students are able to provide professional oral hygiene, know the relevant instruments, perform conservative management of periodontal diseases, make a treatment plan.

|
Student performance
100 % attendance (ad practices), theoretical preparation. Practical exeecutiona: periodontal examinations 2, control examinations 7, the plan of therapy 2 (treatment plan), scaling and root planing 9, deep scaling 1, information of motivation 8, assistance at periodontal surgery 2. 50 % attendance at courses
