Topics of lectures: 1. Introduction to the Labour Law. Legal regulation of labour relations. Fundamental principles of labour law. Individual Labour Law. Collective Labour Law. 2. Employment relationship, its characteristic points. Legal status of employees and employers. Agreements on work performed outside an employment relatonship. 3. Commencement of an employment relationship. Employment contract. Appointment. 4. Alterations of employment relationship. 5. Termination of employment relationship. 6. Working hours and rest periods. Remuneration. Seminary topics: 1. Introduction to the Labour Law. Object and systematics of Labour Law. Relationship (interactions) between Labour Law and other legal branches. 2. Legal sources and fundamental principles of Labour Law. 3. Commencement of an employment relationshop and its basic features. Appointment. 4. Employment contract and employment relationship. Employment contract - fundamental elements. 5. Fixed-term employment relationship. Trial period. Competition clause. 6. Alterations of employment relationship. Transfer to alternative work. Learning outcomes |
Labour Law courses cover mainly the problematic of relations between employers and employees. The courses are focused on the individual Labour Law Relationships (commencement, alteration and termination of an employment relationship, characteristic features of agreements on work performed outside an employment realationship, fundamental rights and duties of employees and employers. The teaching is also focused on the legal regulation of working hours and rest periods and remuneration.
Students will gain knowledge in the field of Labour Law - particularly in the field of individual labour law. Students will be able to apply theoretical knowledge of legal regulation to specific practial cases. Students will acquire mutual links (interactions) between private law and labor law regulations. |

Assessment methods and criteria |
Written exam
Compulsory attendance at seminar lessons corresponding to the requirements of internal regulations of UP. Final verification of knowledge of the subject matter in the form of a written colloquium (theoretical-practical oriented test). |
