Course content
Lecture Topics: Notion and object of family law. Historical development and sources of family law. Establishment of matrimony. Relations between spouses. Alimony between spouses. termination of the matrimony. Alimony of divorce spouse. Registered partnership. Relations between Parents and Children. General characteristic. Parents' responsibility. Name and Surname of the child. Maintenance duty between relatives. Foster parent care. Guardianship. Socio-legal protection of children. Custodianship European aspects of family law. Learning outcomes
The course Family law focuses on the following areas: Importance of family law and its position in the legal system. The emergence of marriage. Marriage - void and voidable. The rights and obligations of spouses. Termination and dissolution of marriage. The creation of the same sax partnerships. The rights and obligations of the partners. Termination and cancellation of the partnership. Cohabitation. Rights and obligations between partners. Determining parentage. Current issues of motherhood. Presumption of paternity. Parental responsibility. Maintenance Obligations. Institutes: foster care, adoption, custody of another. Guardianship and custodianship. Social and legal protection. Rights of the child. Current issues recodification. Europeizace Czech family law. Students will gain awareness of the family law in the Czech Republic. Innovation of the course was supported by the project Supporting interdisciplinary studies and innovation of study subjects at Palacky University in Olomouci CZ.1.07/2.2.00/28.0091.
Students will gain necessary knowledge of substantive and also procedural aspects of family law as well as EU law related questions.
Prerequisites
Completion of this course is not conditional upon completion of some other courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark

It is essential that those students who would like to get the credit must have attendance within the scope set by the seminar teacher and succeed in the written credit test and they also must succeed in oral exam. The student is required to work with the learning objects, which have been created for the concrete subject and are available for authorized students in LMS EDIS.
