Course content
1) The general concepts of the Czech Labour law, sources of the Labour law, basic principles, Labour Law and EU, nature of the provisions contained in the Labour Code, conception of the dependent work. 2) The equal treatment principle, prohibition of discrimination and Labour law relationships. 3) Employment Law Relationship - Parties, Creation, Legal capacity, Trial period, Employment Law Relationship for a fixed term. 4) Employment Agreement - content requirements, form, comparison with contract for work. 5) Alternation of Employment Law Relationship. 6) Termination of the Employment Law Relationship.

Learning outcomes
Course held in English. The main aim of this course is to introduce students with positive Labour Law in the Czech Republic. The course is focused on the essential legal institutes of the Czech Labour Law, starting with the general concepts, sources of Labour Law, ending with the methods of termination of the contract of employment.
Students who absolve this course gain general overview of the legal regulation of the Labour law in Czech Republic. An additional value of the course lies in the fact, that attendants of the course will gain language skills and orientation in the special English legal terminology.
Prerequisites
Completion of this course is not conditional upon completion of some other courses.

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark

Students who would like to pass the course must have active attendance within the scope set by the seminar teacher. Each student is obliged to present a presentation from the topic given by the seminar teacher. Students must pass a written exam.
