Learning outcomes
|
The course is a core subject forming the third pillar of the study programme focused on the development of the student's ability to present the acquired knowledge and skills, i.e. the student's professional skills and general abilities. Its main purpose is the development of the student's scientific skills, specifically focusing on the student's ability to present the acquired knowledge and skills in a scientific text and in a professional scientific forum. The course is mainly related to the Philosophical and Methodological Foundations of Law and Scientific Propaedeutics and is intended for students of the Private Law specialization. The fourth semester continues to develop the student's ability to present the results of his/her research at scientific conferences, but focuses mainly on the preparation of the dissertation. During the semester, as in the second and third semesters of the course, the student is required, in cooperation with his/her lecturer, to choose a topic for his/her scientific paper (identify the problem to be solved) and to prepare this scientific paper in order to present it in the form of an active presentation at a scientific conference (ability to present a solution to the chosen problem). Active participation in the conference includes the written version of the paper and its publication in the conference proceedings. In case the conference proceedings will not be prepared, this obligation may be waived after agreement with the lecturer. At this stage of the study, the student must have already completed the core part of his/her dissertation. Therefore, in order to successfully complete the course, the student is required to submit to his/her lecturer a complete dissertation passage of at least 50 pages of text.
Students who have completed this course will gain the knowledge necessary to understand the features of law.

Prerequisites
|
Completion of this course is conditional upon the completion of the courses Philosophical and Methodological Foundations of Law I., II. and Scientific and Pedagogical Propedeutics I., II. and Scientific Activity and Preparation of a Dissertation in the Field of Private Law I.-III.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Student performance
Fulfillment of the subject conditions, which are passive participation in a scientific conference on private law and submission of a detailed literature search for the dissertation. The conditions are the same for students of the combined form of study.
