Course content
Basic general neurology. History and neurological examination. Basic clinical examination methods, EEG, EMG, sonography, CSF analysis, examination of cortical defects, neuroimaging (CT, MRI, PET, SPECT). Cerebrovascular diseases, basic clinical symptomatology. Epilepsy - type of seizures, diagnosis, therapy. Craniocerebral trauma, first aid, disorders of consciousness, diagnosis and therapy. Infectious diseases of the brain and meninges. Demyelinating diseases of the CNS. Vertebrogenic, muscular and degenerative diseases.

Learning outcomes
The fundamental aspects of the current issues in neurology are taught. The course is designed to include information essential to students of the radiology assistant programme. Basic general neurology. History and neurological examination. Basic clinical examination methods, EEG, EMG, sonography, CSF analysis, examination of cortical defects, neuroimaging (CT, MRI, PET, SPECT). Cerebrovascular diseases, basic clinical symptomatology. Students will gain a basic knowledge of the current issues in neurology, they will understand basic neurological clinical conditions and will be prepared to collaborate in the diagnostics of neurological diseases. After graduation, students will be able to implement the acquired knowledge in the radiodiagnostic process.
