Introduction - characteristics of nuclear medicine Radionuclides, production and properties Radiopharmaceuticals and their production Rudiments of dosimetry and human protection from ionizing radiation Detection of ionizing radiation, scintillation detectors, collimators Decontamination procedures in an emergency event with emitters

Learning outcomes
The course goal is to acquire theoretical knowledge about open emitters used in nuclear medicine, work principles and the basics of radiation protection applicable in clinical practice. Students will learn independent handling of emergency situations with emitters.
