4 thematic blocks: 1. Formation and development of a team, team building, working group x team. Characteristics of functional teams and team effectiveness. Basic terminology. 2. Team leadership, personality of the leader. Leadership styles. Basics of effective manager communication/ assigning tasks, conducting meetings. 3. Conflicts in the team, their resolution, mediation. Loss of team performance, motivation. Stimulation and team development. Team resilience. 4. Team coaching and group work. Manager in the role of team coach. Facilitation skills of the team leader. Feedback. Engaged teams, the latest trends in team development.

Learning outcomes
|
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the basics of teamwork and the rules of functioning of effective teams. The course introduces the basic terminology related to teams and workgroups, the principles of building and leading effective teams and supporting teamwork. The focus will also be on the person of the leader and communication as a basic tool of team management. Students will be introduced to the basic causes of team dysfunction, communication and relational barriers, conflicts and ways to resolve them, including mediation techniques. Other topics necessary for quality work with a team are effective motivation as a condition for stable team performance, a good team atmosphere and team care and development as a basic prerequisite for building engaged teams. Last but not least, students will learn the development method of team coaching using the full potential of group dynamics, facilitation techniques suitable for teamwork, feedback-driven techniques.
The student orients himself in the laws of team functioning, knows what principles the team works on and what affects its performance. He can distinguish between a team and a work group, identifies the individual development stages of the team and learns the basic principles of effective team leader communication. He is able to describe the basic causes of team dysfunction, conflicts in the team and knows how to solve them. They learn the basics of conflict mediation. The student knows the principles on which team coaching works and practically acquires the basic facilitation techniques of a team leader, including the techniques of providing feedback in a team.

Active participation in lessons. Individual processing and submission of a semester paper on a selected assigned topic connecting the learning topics and the participants' practice, within the scope of max. 3 A4.
