Course content
Students will gain knowledge of the incidence and mortality of communicable and non-communicable diseases in the Czech Republic and in the selected countries, their risk factors and possible ways of intervention. The seminar will focus on practical epidemiological skills, ability to analyze and compare trends of the incidence of the disease and ways how to influence the incidence of both communicable and non-communicable diseases.

Learning outcomes
Training of practical skills in the epidemiology of communicable and non-communicable diseases.
After the course, students should be able to work with health registries and statistics, find and assess trends of disease occurence, evaluate the pattern of disease occurence in the world; to identify risk factors and to take measures within prevention of communicable and non-communicable diseases on various levels.
