Course content
These topics covered in the course: examination methods in gynaecology and obstetrics, course of pregnancy, external and vaginal examination, course of physiological pregnancy, birth of the foetus in longitudinal lie, head and breech positions, birth outside a healthcare facility, adnexal torsion, cyst rupture, inflammatory diseases, placental abruption, uterine rupture, umbilical cord, shoulder dystocia, deflection positions, postpartum haemorrhage).

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to give a comprehensive overview of the physiology of a delivery, examination methods in gynaecology and obstetrics, acute conditions related to pregnancy and childbirth.

Prerequisites
The student will be able to provide care to women during gynaecological examination, to assist in delivery of the foetus in longitudinal lie, head and breech presentation, to diagnose acute conditions related to pregnancy and childbirth (torso adnex, ruptured cysts, inflammatory diseases, abortion, placental abruption, umbilical cord prolapse, shoulder dystocia, etc.)
