Course content
|
Introduction to perinatal palliative care ? definitions and the role in the wider context of children palliative care. Description of each category and group. Ethical and legal issues. Care for the mother, stillborn child, early perinatal loss, life-limiting and life-threatening condition diagnoses in the foetus and newborn. Delivery on the borders of viability. Newborn palliative care. Communication in perinatal palliative care, breaking bad news, loss and bereavement, family care after loss, self care.

The aim to introduce the topic of perinatal palliative care in midwifery practice
