Course content
|
Specific functions of reproductive organs and their disorders. Family planning and infertility. In vitro fertilization. Inflamations of female sex organs.Tumours of female reproductive organs. Emergencies in gynecology. Physiological pregnancy, drugs in pregnancy. Disorders and pathologies in pregnancy. Physiological delivery, alternative ways of labour management. Physiology and pathology of puerperium. Emergencies in obstetrics.

Learning outcomes
|
Through lectures students will gain basic knowledge of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The education is aimed on pharmacotherapy, diagnostics, examination methods, managing emergencies and treatment of pathologies in oral cavity during pregnancy.
Student is able to take a relevant patient history and perform a gynecological and obstetric examination on models, to judge the size, consistence and possible tenderness of the non- pregnant uterus and the ovaries, to judge the size of the pregnant uterus in various periods of pregnancy.

Completion of the 3rd year of Dentistry programme.
