Course content
|
Improving theoretical knowledge obtained in the 5th year's gynaecology and obstetrics PGY/VC011 and its practical upgrading in collaborating teaching hospitals in Czech Republic or in abroad. During the training students practise basic gynaecological examinations including colposcopy and cytology. They should assist at operations and other gynaecological surgical procedures. In a delivery room they should improve their practice of management of normal labour and delivery including repair of perineal lacerations and cervical injuries. They should assist at obstetrical surgical procedures. They should also perform examination and treatment of the newborn after delivery.

Learning outcomes
|
During the clerkship students should perfect gynecological examinations including colposcopy and sonography. They should improve their skills in prevention, screening and diagnosis, treatment of emergencies. They should participate on family planning, pre-conception and pre-natal consultation, low risk labour assistance, sexually transmitted diseases and menopause. They should also assist at gynecological procedures performed at operating theatres.
The student should be able to perform by himself a gynecological examination including pap smear, deliver a baby including treatment of lacerations.

Students are obliged to meet study demands of PGY/VC011.
PGY/VC011 and CH1/VC013 and PAT/VCB11 and PFY/VCB12 and CJA/VCB21

Completion of 2 weeks of practice across departments, ambulance halls and Gynaecology Dept. clinics, or contract facilities district.
