1. Humanities dealing with religion. 2. Basic concepts in the study of religion. 3. Religion and psychoanalysis. 4. Fromm and religion. 5. Religion and mythology from the perspective of C. G. Jung and his students. 6. Transpersonal psychology. 7. Types of religious experience. 8. Religious conversion. 9. Types of religious practice. 10. Gordon Allport and methods of measuring religious orientation. 11. Other research methods (Hood, Pargament, Elkins, Piedmont, ESI, Ricany). 12. Relationship between religion and personality. 13. Three basic areas of the relationship between religion and health (lifestyle, cognitive component, social support). 14. Factors influencing the relationship between mental health and religion. 15. Exorcism and states of obsession 16. Anti-cultural movements: brainwashing theory, deprogramming, output counseling. 17. Anti-religious and anti-church movements. 18. Religious motivated suicides. 19. Religious motivated violence. 20. Ethical aspects of the relationship between psychology and religion.

Learning outcomes
|
The course deals with psychological aspects of religion. Attention is paid to the history of psychology of religion, important psychologists of religion, psychological theories of religion and research methods. At the same time, it focuses on major contemporary issues such as religiously motivated violence, religiously motivated psychological manipulation, etc.
