Course content
1. The form and objectives of education in the Czech Republic and abroad, key documents in the Czech education system 2. Key institutions in Czech education and their role 3. Basic terminology of educational psychology 4. Myths in education 5. Reflection of asocianistic, behavioristic and neo-behavioristic approach towards learning in the Czech education system 6. Needs of pupils and motivation in school - basic theories + specific approaches 7. Cognitivism and constructivism 8. Brain compatible learning and humanistic view of education 9. School success 10. Problems of evaluation in education 11. Standardized testing and criticism of selectivity of the Czech education system 12. Class as a social group 13. Teachers (specifics of the profession, required competencies, etc.) 14. Alternative approaches to education 1 (reform schools: Montessori, etc.) 15. Alternative approaches to education 2 (critical pedagogy, unschooling, etc.) 16. Distance education and the use of digital technologies in education 17. Moral development and value education at school 18. Socio-emotional learning and positive psychology at school 19. System of school counseling 20. Inclusive education, pupils with SEN and gifted pupils 21. Prevention in the classroom (principles of effective prevention, entry levels, diagnostics at the class level) 22.
