Course content
- Defining the goals and subject of psychology, basic concepts of cognitive psychology. - Subject of study of psychology from the point of view of its main directions. Division of psychological fields. - Consciousness and its functions. - Attention, its types and functions. - Sleeping and dreaming, stages of sleep, theories of dreaming. - Sensory processes. - Perception. - Learning, its types and functions. - Memory system, long-term memory. - Forgetting, childhood amnesia, constructive memory. - Imagination, propositions and mental imagery (S. Kosslyn).

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Projection (static, dynamic)

Learning outcomes
Students will be acquainted with following themes: Basic concepts of cognitive psychology, consciousness and its functions, cognitive processes.
Basic orientation in the field of cognitive psychology in its contemporary problems and research themes.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge about cognitive processes classification and functions.

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Written exam, Seminar Work

The student finds 2 articles devoted to one of the topics of cognitive psychology (see course content) and writes a text about each article, about half a standard page, in which he summarizes the main findings of the given article. Students are required to pass the final exam. See the link below for exam topics.
