Course content
Self-awareness and self-knowledge as a path (foundation) to self-management - Definition of constructs - Self management and personality - Awareness of character strengths - Career anchors - Methods of self-knowledge (registration and analysis of own thinking, behaviour and actions, feedback from others, psychological diagnosis) Goal setting - Setting - Elaboration - Reflection Time-management - Time management methods - Methods of planning the day Emotional intelligence as a key to success in successful self-management - Characteristics of emotional intelligence - Emotional intelligence skills (perceiving emotions, using emotions, understanding emotions, managing emotions) Stress and working with stress - Mindfulness meditation - Using humour to manage stress

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to provide students with knowledge, skills and competences in the area of self-knowledge, self-awareness and self-management. Students should recognize which abilities, skills and competences they can develop and manage in themselves, given their professional focus, and learn to work actively with them.

Zápočet - Aktivní účast, dvě absence jsou možné Zkouška - Zkouška se skládá z vypracování 5 úkolů a napsání krátké reportu ke každému z nich: 1. Sebeuvědomění si silných stránek charakteru (sebehodnocení v dotazníku silných stránek charakteru VIA; zkoumání toho, jak vaše silné stránky vidí ostatní); 3 normostránky 2. Osobní cíle (osmikroková intervence zaměřená na stanovení cílů); 3 normostránky 3. Time management (nácvik určité techniky time managementu); 2 normostránky 4. Řízení emocí (identifikace adekvátních reakcí na různé situace/viněty); 2 normostránky 5. Mindfulness (praktikování mindfulness meditace a reflexe problémů a přínosů); 2 normostránky Credit - Active participation, two absences are possible Exam - The exam consists of 5 assignments and writing a short report for each of them: 1. Self-awareness of character strengths (self-assessment on the VIA Character Strengths Survey; exploration of how others see your strengths); 3 pages 2. Personal goals (eight steps goal-setting intervention); 3 pages 3. Time management (practice of a certain time management technique); 2 pages 4. Emotion management (identifying adequate responses to different situations/vignettes); 2 pages 5. Mindfulness (practice of mindfulness meditation and reflection on problems and benefits); 2 pages
