Course content
|
Norm and developmental psychopathology in the present day, types of pathopsychological circuits in children and adolescents Influences of contemporary family and parenting styles Influences of the school environment, differentiation between bullying and group aggression, social networks and peer groups Attachment disorders, developmental trauma, children in foster care- specific manifestations and approach ADHD syndrome, correspondences and differences with other manifestations in children, rules of approach in the family and at school Consequences of trauma, domestic violence - possibilities and limits for educators Chronically ill child and school Autism spectrum disorders and other neurodevelopmental disorders Oppositional defiance, behavioural disorders, substitution theft Anxiety states, avoidant behaviour, self-regulation problems; Self-harm, eating disorders, identity problems.

Learning outcomes
|
The issue of manifestations of pathopsychology in children, especially in the context of the school environment. Specific developmental aspects emerge during early childhood and schooling. Issues of identification and differentiation of these manifestations from more serious psychopathology, possibilities of approach for parents and educational staff.
This course focuses on understanding the pathopsychology of children and adolescents and its application in the school setting with an emphasis on developmental aspects. Students will become familiar with typical observable manifestations and common confusions with other difficulties. The course will cover the basic principles of family and school involvement. By the end of the course, students will have the basic knowledge needed for practical application and research in this area.
