Course content
|
Theoretical part 1. Introduction to the culture a. Determination of culture and its levels, components (values, practices). b. Evolution of culture, enculturation, influence of culture on behaviour. c. Dimension of national cultures (G. Hofstede and G. J. Hofstede, F. Trompenaars). d. Organizational culture and its components. e. Role of organizational culture in human resources management. 2. Guidelines for description and measurement of organizational culture a. Typologies of organizational culture. b. Culture and company development. c. Significant models of organizational culture (tools and opportunities for description). d. Measurement design. 3. Analyse of data and description 4. Possibilities of change, transformation and development a. The IRIC tools for the change. b. The CTT tools for the transformation. Practical part Students prepare own case study which is aimed on the description of organizational culture or subculture in the real conditions. 1. The unit of research is given by lecturer. 2. Students determine suitable qualitative or/and quantitative design for research. 3. Students do the research in the given unit. 4. The core of the case study is consisted of a) intentional observation of the unit according to the culture components b) results of research. 5. Students present the case study during workshop.

Case study of organizational culture/subculture and its presentation in class. Theoretical basics of the discipline written examination.
