Course content
a) Psychopathology Disorders of partial mental functions (with an emphasis on disorders of perception, thinking, affect, memory, consciousness, personality, and psychomotorics). Syndromology and symptomatology of psychiatric disorders, diagnostic system ICD-10 and DSM-IV, their differences, the concept of multiaxial diagnostics, the diagnostic criteria of mental disorders. Generational mental disorders. Approaches in the categorization of mental disorders, dynamic models, symptomatic models, etiological models, their advantages and risks. Psychopharmacology, the distribution of psychotropic drugs, the influence of particular drug groups on psychological diagnostics and test image of mental disorders. b) Psychodiagnostics The methods used in clinical psychodiagnostics, focusing on methods ROR, TAT, MMPI-2, Wechsler intelligence and memor scales, clasification of methods, neuropsychological tests. The image of mental disorders in authoritarian methods, the integration of data from a psychological examination. Diagnosis of personality, memory, intellect, organicity, affective disorders, psychoses, neuroses, diagnostic sub-components of personality (talent, temperament ...). Strategy of copmlex, targeted and controlled psychological examination. c) Psychotherapy General theory of psychotherapy (psychoanalysis, dynamic psychotherapy, humanistic and existential psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, family therapy ...). Special psychotherapy for anxious disorders, somatoform disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, addictions, marital and family problems. The use of play therapy, expressive techniques, targeted activities. Hypnotherapy and the use of suggestion. The choice of group and individual therapy. Methodology of research in psychotherapy (variables in psychotherapy, problems in research in psychotherapy) d) The Psychology of health and disease Psychosomatic concepts, psychosomatic disorders in various fields of medicine, theoretical concepts of health and disease, protective factors, health problems, both acute and chronic illness, disability issues, pain, aging and dying. The issue of disability and strategies of examination for court purposes. The concept of alexithymia, the issue of lifestyle diseases, stress management, issues of prevention. e) Child Clinical Psychology (doc. Mgr. Irena Sobotková, PhD.) Stages of child development, their specifics in terms of clinical practice. Disorders of psychological development in childhood and adolescence. Disability in the context of the development of the child, the family of a child with disability. Psychic deprivation, residential care, foster care. Somatically ill child. Child and pain. The isssues of child abuse and neglect. Specific learning disabilities and behavioral disorders. Psychological assessment of children and adolescents. Child psychotherapy.

Learning outcomes
Elaborate knowledge at particular subdiscipline of clinical psychology, especially in the area of psychopathology, psychodiagnostic, psychotherapy, psychology of health and diseases. Elaborate knowledge in the area of child clinical psychology with emphasis on main topics.
The graduate obtains the following competences: - The student is able to understand the system of classification of mental disorders. - The student will acquire the skill to orientate and compare classification systems ICD-10 and DSM-IV. - The student can well describe and explain the principles of psychodiagnostics methods ROR, TAT, MMPI-II, WAIS-III and other relevant methods. He/she knows particular scales, knows their mutual relationship in relation to psychopathology. He/she understands their psychometric principles. - The student is able to understand the problems of integration the data from clinical-psychological examinations. He/she knows the limits of particular methods (history, interview, projective techniques, questionnaires). - The student will deepen his/her knowledge of psychotherapeutic approaches, with a focus on methods of psychotherapy. - The student will understand the problems of research in psychotherapy. He/she is able to suggest a design of a research project in psychotherapy. He/she has a good knowledge of methodological issues in research in psychoterapy. - The student has detailed knowledge of psychology of health and illness. - The student is able to understand in detail in the disorders of psychological development and problems of children at risk. - The student understands the ethical issues in child clinical psychology and research.

- master degree in psychology - admission to a doctoral program (internal or combined)

Assessment methods and criteria
Oral exam, Student performance, Dialog, Anamnestic Method

Detailed study of particular topics according syllabuses, a good knowledge of basic literature. Good orientation in recommended and widening literature. The student selects two of five circuits for this test. For the final state doctoral exam in clinical psychology he/she chooses two of the remaining three circuits.
