Abstrakt: This presentation aims to highlight artificial intelligence in view of psychology, i.e. how psychology may respond to its challenges, evaluate pros and cons and support the construction of a fully functional AI system The presentation distinct parts are: 1. Historical aspects of AI: - Role of philosophers, mathematicians, scientists, inventors etc. - Different views and realisations. 2. Definitions for AI. 3. The role of psychology in AI. Expectations from intelligent machines. Types of intelligence. 4. AI systems: - software and hardware - Artificial neural networks - Fuzzy logic and fuzzy systems - Robotics 5. Other fields, linked to AI systems: - Object recognition - Shape recognition - Machine learning - Neurotechnology - Bi-directional Brain-Computer interface 6. Areas of psychology, having the leading role: - Interaction of humans with AI systems and the psychological impact on them (humans) - Input/creation of emotions in AI systems - Evaluation of the mental health of AI systems and human beings, interacting with them Topics for discussion: - Can we define the computer as an extension of the human mind? - Is an AI system going to replace "real" human intelligence and develop its own consciousness? - Is AI going to replace us in our work, in social relations and relationships? - Is AI going to take over mankind and eventually rule the world?
