Course content
Themes and topics: Ophthalmology: diagnosis, examination methods, therapeutic approaches and medicines in ophthalmology, specific health resources, preventive care about vision (primary and secondary), the specifics of nursing care for patients with diseases of the eyes, first aid at eye injuries. Otorhinolaryngology: diagnosis, examination methods, therapeutic approaches and medicines in ORL including audiology and otoneurology, specific health resources, preventive care for hearing (primary and secondary, the specifics of nursing care for patients with ORL diseases, first aid at ear injuries Dermatovenereology: diagnosis, examination methods, therapeutic approaches and medicines, preventive care about skin (primary and secondary), prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (primary and secondary), the specifics of nursing care for patients with diseases of the skin, the specifics of nursing care for patients with STD, allergy issues in dermatology. Stomatology: Preventive dental care (primary and secondary), the specifics of nursing care for sick children and adults with diseases of the oral cavity, first aid at oral cavity injuries.

Learning outcomes
The subject is designed as theoretical-practical. It extends medical knowledge in the field of clinical nursing in the fields of ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, dermatovenerology and dentistry. It aquaints with clinical conditions of the nursing care, needs of patients and the organization of multidisciplinary care in the context of disease in the fields mentioned within outpatient and inpatient health services.
Students will be able to: - Separately provide professional nursing assistance to patients with eye diseases - Implement knowledge and skills acquired in the class in the complex treatment of patients with all diseases, ORL field. - Apply knowledge and skills in the field of nursing care of patients with dermatovenereology diseases - Use the acquired knowledge in providing clinical nursing practice for patients with diseases of the oral cavity

Assessment methods and criteria
Mark, Written exam

Active participation in the seminars and the practical seminars, 90% attendance in the practical seminars. Elaboration of nursing casuistry selected focusing on the specifics of care in these fields. Accomplishment of final exam.
