Course content
Definition of the main topics of the course: -Characteristics of psychiatric nursing care (care organization, legal and ethical issues of care) specifics of the individual steps of the nursing process in psychiatric care -Specifics of nursing process in psychiatric care of patients with organic disorders -Specifics of nursing process in the care of patients with addiction -Specifics of nursing process in the care of patients with schizophrenic disorders -Specifics of nursing process in the care of patients with affective disorders -Specifics of nursing process in the care of patients with neurotic disorders -Specifics of nursing process in the care of patients with eating disorders -Specifics of nursing process in the care of patients with personality disorders -Specifics of nursing process in the care of patients with psychiatric disorders in children and adolescents

Learning outcomes
The course is in a block of clinical nursing, is structured as a theoretical-practical unit. It focuses on the assessment and diagnosis of patients' needs changed in connection with psychiatric conditions that significantly affect the health and quality of human life, the planning, implementation and evaluation of psychiatric nursing care with respect to its multidisciplinary aspects of mental health care. Characterizes the specifics of individual care in institutions of various forms of health care services in this area.
Student is able to - describe the characteristics of psychiatric nursing care - learn the basics of a needs assessment in patients with psychiatric illness needs to diagnose patients with psychiatric illness in relation to their health - to plan, implement and evaluate the effect of nursing care for patients with psychiatric illnesses - documenting the various phases of the nursing process in psychiatric care

Active participation in the exercises (70%) and oral verification of knowledge of nursing care of patients with psychiatric illness.
