Course content
The course introduces students to the care of children and their families with life-threatening and life-limiting illness, including perinatal palliative care, options for follow-up health and social services in the Czech Republic, end-of-life care plan, assessment and management of symptoms, communication with family and ill child not only about death and dying, coping with loss and grief.

Learning outcomes
This course introduces students to basic information about children's palliative care issues including perinatal palliative care, communication with the family and child, symptom management, grief management and bereavement.
Communication with the child and family members in palliative care; assessment and management of pain and other symptoms; working with grief, bereavement and spirituality; prevention of burnout syndrome.
