The subject deals mainly with the cardiovascular system, pneumology, rheumatology and diabetology, including paraclinical examinations. The acquired knowledge is comparable to those of medical students in Introduction to Internal Medicine.
Students are introduced to history taking and physical examinations, with examination methods used in those branches of internal medicine where rehabilitation and physiotherapy are an integral part of complete treatment. These are the following branches of internal medicine: cardiology, rheumatology, pneumology and diabetology. In the practicals, patients with these diseases are demonstrated.
