Main topics of the course: Types of disabilities - physical, sensory, combined Neurodevelopmental disorders - DMO, autism, mental retardation, ADHD Neuromuscular diseases, congenital CNS defects, neurodegenerative diseases, health consequences after oncological diseases, traumas and CNS diseases Sensory disabilities Communication with the child, use of new knowledge and technology (mobile applications, tablets) OCHRIP Home care, early care, special care, aids and their use in medical facilities and in the home environment Rehabilitation stays and spa treatment, residential services for children with sensory impairments Social security at home, financial assistance from the state, use of organizations focused on certain specific diseases or assistance to families with children with disabilities

Learning outcomes
|
The course is part of a complex of courses in clinical nursing. Students will get acquainted with the issue of children with disabilities, access to them and the family. Care for children with disabilities is multidisciplinary.
