Course content
The total scope of the subject is 53 hours, of which 28 are contact hours and 25 are non-contact hours. Definition of the main topics of the subject: - nursing process as a method of nursing care in pediatrics - characteristics of the assessment of the state of the child's needs -diagnostic process in nursing care in pediatrics - documenting the assessment and diagnosis of the state of the child's needs -use of standard nursing terminology

Learning outcomes
The subject includes a total of 53 hours, of which 28 are contact and 25 non-contact. The course is designed as theoretical-practical, follows on from nursing theory and assumes the application of knowledge to nursing practice in pediatrics. The content is the nursing process as a method of providing nursing care, the characteristics of its individual phases: assessment and diagnosis of the needs of the patient-individual, family and community, planning and implementation of pediatric care by the nursing team and evaluation of the effect of this care. It focuses on the classification of human needs, especially for children according to various fields of authors and models, for healthy and sick children, for disabled and dying children. The study discipline analyzes all phases of the nursing process, explains the thought processes involved in implementing these phases in the clinical setting of pediatric nursing care, guides students to clinical judgment and diagnostic balance, and applies standard nursing terminology when documenting these steps of the nursing process.

Active participation in seminars and exercises, preparation and defense of a seminar paper regarding the documentation of the assessment and diagnosis of the child patient's needs within the nursing process.
