Course content
Evaluation of visual sharpness according to WHO Medical investigation of central visual sharpness and visual field Causes of origin of weak vision Needed visus and visual field for particular activity Calculation of required magnification, magnifying tools for far and near vision Galilei and Kepler binoculars systems and their design and constructional versions Backing lenses Magnifying tools for near vision Overview of supplied special tools Tyfloservis Within the exercise lessons carried out at the clinical workplace, the students become acquainted with the prescription of the special tools.

Learning outcomes
Primary knowledge and understanding of the issue of visually impaired people, the ability to assess visual acuity according to the WHO, examination of central visual acuity and visual field. Orientation and practical experience in the issue of magnifying aids.
A course aimed at gaining the ability to understand a problem. Explain the essence, distinguish and classify the given problem, propose an appropriate solution/recommendation for a specific case.
Prerequisites
Primary knowledge in the field of vision correction.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam

Participation in lectures and exercises, including workshop in Tyfloservis (or participation in current professional workshops). Knowledge and skills in the scope of course topics.
