Lecutres provides theoretical and practical preparation to the realisation of the practical and experimental activities in the frame of practical tutorial and seminars. Practical tutorial and seminars includes training of relevant practical and experimental skills. The tution is focused on the biomicroscopical examination of the anterior and posterior segment of the eye. Lectures: Slit lamp - scheme, principle, types, operating Examination techniques of anterior segment (description, settings, analysis, application): - diffuse illumination - optical section, parallel section, wide beam - scleral scatter, mirror reflex - van Herick method, conical beam - eversion of the upper lid - using of diagnostics drugs Examination of posterior segment - Volk lens - Hruby lens Objective and subjective record of findings: - record charts - grading scales - photography Assesment of the contact lens fitting using slit lamp. Acessorties: - tonometry - pachymetry - gonioscopy Practical tution: Small groups. Activities: - slit lamp setting - diffuse illumination - optical section, parallel section, wide beam - scleral scatter, mirror reflex - van Herick method, conical beam - eversion of the upper lid - examination using fluorescein (conjunctiva, tear film) - posterior segment examination by Volk lens - assesment of the soft and rigid contact lens on the eye Seminars -Performance of required tasks and individual consultations
