Course content

The content of the seminar will be a series of presentations focused on the modern aspects of bioorganic chemistry and chemical biology. Secondary metabolites of flowers - inspiration for organic chemists. Human genome and its analyses. Effects of UV radiation on the skin. Use of experimental animals in pharmacology. Interactions of natural compounds present in food with drugs. Drug dependence. DNA sequencing technologies of 3. generation. Laser microdissection and its applications.

The seminar introduce students into practical aspects of modern bioorganic chemistry and chemical biology and research projects at the Department of Organic Chemistry.
