Course content
The content of the seminar will be a series of presentations focused on the modern aspects of bioorganic chemistry and chemical biology. Strategy of the therapeutical drug monitoring. Practical aspects of clinical toxicology. Modern chromatographic methods in the clinical laboratory. Ethylalcohol - learn about your (bad guy)friend...? Ergot alkaloids. Anthocyanins and proanthocyanidins, nutraceutics with chemoprotective effect decreasing a risk of tumor disorders. Mass spectrometry everywhere you look around. Cooperation of chemists and biologists in drug research. Insight into development of antivirotics and cytostatics. Betulinines - triterpenoids with biological activity. Malaria.

Learning outcomes
The seminar introduce students into practical aspects of modern bioorganic chemistry and chemical biology and research projects at the Department of Organic Chemistry.
