The Certificaat Nederlands als Vreemde Taal (Examination of Dutch as a Foreign Language) is an international examination held annually in the first half of May under the direction of the international Dutch-Flemish inter-governemental office for the promotion of Dutch, Nederlandse Taalunie. The exam has four levels (the corresponding level of the Council of Europe's European Framework of Reference is indicated in brackets): 1) INFO - the 'socially informal' profile - tests tourist and informal language skills (A2); 2) FORM - "social formal" profile - tests social language skills (B1); 3) PROF - profile "business professional" or STRT - profile "able to start" - profiles test professional language skills (B2); 4) EDUP - profile "educational professional" - tests academic language skills (C1) All exams test the ability to understand written and spoken text (receptive skills) and to write and speak independently (productive skills). Adequate knowledge of Dutch is required
The course prepares students for the international exam while improving their language skills.

Prerequisites

During the Bachelor's degree program, the student must pass at least one CNaVT exam.
