Course content
Discussion of the main literary movements of the 20th Century (80s, Van Nu en Straks, Avantgarde, Forum, Fifties, Magical Realism, Existentialism, Great Sixth, Postmodernism, Nihilism, Generation Nix, Faction). Emphasis is placed on the following topics: - The development of literary science in the Netherlands and Flanders - The history of Dutch and Flemish literature in the 20th century - Analysis of literary texts

Learning outcomes
To acquaint students with the development of literary science in the Netherlands and Flanders. In the seminar, further attention is paid to the main literary movement of the 20th Century (the 80s, Van Nu en Straks, Avantgarde, Forum, the Fifties, Magic Realism, Existentialism, the Great Sixth, Postmodernism, Nihilism, Generation Nix, Faction).
Better knowledge of modern Dutch and Flemish literature after 1880.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of modern Dutch and Flemish literature.

Essay, Seminar Work

Presence in the lessons, study of selected texts and authors, essays, presentations, seminar work.
