Course content
|
Students are introduced to selected topics in the field of translation and interpreting theory. They also deal with the development of translatology as such and with contemporary translatological trends.

Learning outcomes
|
The course aims to offer an insight in fundamental and generally appliquable thematic strands of translation theory and methods, the knowledge of which will be applicated in practical translation workshops and exercises.
Students are oriented in the basic, generally valid thematic areas of translation and interpreting theory and methodology, the knowledge of which they can creatively apply in practical translation seminars.

Prerequisites

Completion of the 2UTR1 course.

Assessment methods and criteria
|
Written exam
Active participation in classes, presentation of selected topics. Application of theoretical knowledge in practice of translations from different genres.
