Course content
1. Introduction 2. Aspects of consecutive interpreting 3. Differences between consecutive and simultaneous interpreting 4. Problems of taking notes while interpreting 5. Familiarization with interpreting technical equipment 6. Practical training in consecutive interpreting, on the basis of authentic recordings of various thematic headings (hobbies, travel, news, simple texts on politics, culture, social life, business, etc.)

Learning activities and teaching methods
Monologic Lecture(Interpretation, Training), Dialogic Lecture (Discussion, Dialog, Brainstorming), Work with Text (with Book, Textbook), Demonstration, Activating (Simulations, Games, Dramatization)
Learning outcomes
During the course, students practice working with (professional) spoken text. Emphasis is placed on fluency and fluency in interpreting, expanding vocabulary within the topics covered, practicing interpreting notation and applying appropriate interpreting strategies. Students interpret mainly from Czech into Dutch.
In the theoretical part acquaint the specifics of simultaneous interpreting, conference interpreting and judicial interpreting. In the instrumental part students intensify the experience with consecutive interpreting end acquire the base of simultaneous interpreting.. In the cognitive part students practice memory exercising. In the practical part students apply experience in simultaneous interpretation of short speeches, especially from Czech into Dutch.
Prerequisites
Language skills at least at CNaVT-PMT-level.

Mark, Oral exam, Student performance, Analysis of linguistic, Systematic Observation of Student, Final Report

Regular active participation in classes, 2 absences allowed. Students record themselves at home as assigned, evaluate their recordings and complete other assignments.
