Learning outcomes
The purpose of the course Reading and Listening is to practice effective and analytical reading of, and listening to various types of texts. Special attention will be paid to the text structure, vocabulary and reading intonation. The course uses mainly authentic texts from newspapers, magazines, radio and television broadcasts. Authentic interviews, news and discussions are selected for listening, news, speeches and publicistic contributions are selected for reading. Furthermore, during the seminar, special attention is paid to the structure and style of the text, the selection and use of appropriate linguistic means with respect to the grammatical correctness of the expression, and to the dissemination of students' active vocabulary.
