Course content
Students get gradually familiar with the basic principles and rules of the Dutch grammar system. During the summer semester a special attention is being paid to creating past tense of Dutch (ir)regular verbs, the usage of adjectives (declinations, making comparative and superlative forms), basic principles of negation and using the most frequent prepositions. Moreover word order in simple sentences and short complex/compound sentences both in the present and past tense is being exercised.

Learning outcomes
This course builds upon the knowledge and competences obtained within the courses taught in the wintersemester of the first year of the bachalor study programma, namely Language exercises (NIZ/1JAZ1) and the Grammar Exercises 1 (NIZ/2GRM1). It extends both the students' vocabulary and their grammatical skills. Emphasis is placed on active and accurate expression in the target language. The issues discussed are practised with specific examples originating primarily from the script Taaloefeningen I.
Obtaining a general overview concerning Dutch grammar, extending Dutch vocabulary and improving Dutch language skills.
Prerequisites
The students are required to have have basic knowledge of grammar categories on a secondary school level and to have passed the courses Dutch Grammar 1 (NIZ/1GRM1) and Language Exercises 1 (NIZ/1JAZ1).

Assessment methods and criteria
Analysis of linguistic, Didactic Test

Carrying out homework tasks and other assignments systematically, being active during the seminars, taking interim tests, passing the final written test minimally with 75 % result.
