Learning outcomes

The course is a continuation of the Development Economics course. Its aim is to examine rather social issues in developing countries (also from an economic perspective). Analyzed are issues such as measuring social development of countries, health, education and innovation, or migration and remittances.
Students will gain knowledge in topics such as measuring social development of countries, health, education, migration and remittances, and measuring sustainability. They will also gain practical skills in constructing composite indicators using MS Excel or Stata.
