Course content
|
At the beginning of the course, students are introduced to the phases of the project cycle (programming, identification, formulation, implementation and evaluation). The core of the course is focused on the application of logical framework approach used for project planning. Using the assigned case study, students draft the stakeholder, problem, objective and strategy analyses, finally being able to formulate the logical framework matrix as well as budget and timetable of a project. Students also become familiar with an alternative approach used for project planning, with the Theory of Change. Learning outcomes

At the beginning of the course students are introduced to the phases of project cycle management (programming, identification, formulation, implementation and evaluation). The core of the course is focused on the application of logical framework approach used for project planning. Based on a case study students draft the stakeholder, problem, objective and strategy analyses, finally being able to formulate the logical framework matrix as well as budget and timetable of a project. Students also become familiar with project methodology of the European Structural Funds as implemented in the Czech Republic.
Upon completion of the course students should be able to apply the logical framework approach, propose and prepare development assistance projects, and analyze other projects.

Active participation, preparation of a group project proposal, written test covering the lectures.
