Course content
The course aims to increase students understanding of the complex phenomenon of globalization. The first part of the course is devoted to a critical discussion of the concept of globalization, including historical perspectives. A significant part of the course focuses on the economic dimension of globalization. In addition to the analysis of the main actors and processes of economic globalization, attention is also paid to selected economic sectors (agro-food industries). Students will discuss selected controversial aspects of globalization processes (large-scale land acquisitions, the issue of the global inequality). The end of the course is devoted to the political, cultural and ideological dimensions of globalization.

Learning outcomes
The course aims to increase students understanding of the complex phenomenon of globalization.
Upon completion of the course students should be able to analyse crucial economic, social and political aspect of globalization.

Assessment methods and criteria
Written exam, Seminar Work

Active participation in teaching, participation in semestral assignment (preparation and presentation of poster on the given topic - in groups), continuous study of prescribed compulsory literature. The course ends with a written exam.
