Course content
|
The course is an introduction to economics for students of development and environmental studies and applied mathematics. The aim of the course is to introduce students to basic economic concepts as part of a general overview while providing an analytical framework for subsequent economics courses (especially MRS/REKO Development Economics). Teaching topics focus on the areas of microeconomics, macroeconomics, and international economics. Emphasis is placed on linking theory with practical examples and economic policy. The course does not require prior knowledge of economics or advanced mathematics but requires reading the literature (in English) and preparation for seminars. The course information will be published on the moodle platform.
