Course content
Contents: 1.Introduction to communication, communication process 2.Communication role of healthcare manager: requirements for manager's communication, competences of a manager in communication 3.Verbal communication skills: active listening, effective questioning 4.Nonverbal communication skills: understanding body language and facial expressions 5.Transactional analysis principle in managerial communication, principle of mirroring, work with emotions and attitudes 6.Assertiveness in managerial communication: definition and principles, techniques for assertive expression and their application in healthcare settings 7.Effective presentation skills for healthcare managers: preparing and delivering impactful presentation, overcoming public speaking anxiety 8.Ethical considerations in healthcare communication, confidentiality and patient privacy The emphasis is placed on teamwork, brainstorming, interactive group exercises and role-plays. Further methods used are the following: dialogue, reproductive method, the method of problem interpretation and reflection and self-evaluation of communication skills.

Learning outcomes
The aim of the course is to train students' communication skills needed for successful performance of the role of healthcare manager, enabling them to effectively interact with various stakeholders in the healthcare industry. Students will develop essential verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including presentation skills. Through theoretical concepts and practical exercises students will acquire the necessary tools to communicate efficiently and professionally in healthcare settings.
