|
The course External Relations Law II aims to acquaint students with the institutional and legal bases of the external dimension of the EU. The graduate will gain an overview of the historical development of legal, political and security aspects of cooperation in the mainstream of European integration, get acquainted with the legal and political mechanisms of the EU institutions in the field of EU Common Foreign and Security Policy, including relations with various groups of countries or international organizations. The course is characterized by a multidisciplinary concept, which assumes the involvement of various teachers of the Faculty of Law to address specific topics that by their nature go beyond the law, security and international relations, political science, or economics. The course also offers the use of expertise and specialization of law school staff in terms of EU relations with selected regions (e.g. USA, Latin America, Turkey). External law course II. is primarily focused on the content of the legal and political agenda of the EU in relation to selected international organizations (UN, NATO, WTO?), countries, and groups of countries in the historical context and current context associated with the post-Lisbon order. The course is taught by the seminar method, which allows interactive and more intensive work with students, as well as the lecture method with the involvement of the guarantor
After completing the course, the student will be familiar with the external dimension of the EU in terms of institutional and legal mechanisms. They will also learn about the content of common policies, which have a strong external dimension and can be taken as part of EU foreign policy. The student will be able to think critically about the setting of EU mechanisms and policies and be aware of the importance and role of law in external relations.

Students will have a written test at the end of the course on the material covered in lectures and seminars and compulsory reading.
